MYKITA

2017

Handcrafted in Germany from stainless steel sheets less than 0.5 mm thick, MYKITA frames are made into a three-dimensional structure through a series of bending and folding steps.

Several MYKITA eyewear collections have won a variety of prestigious design awards since the company was founded in 2003 including the accolade of the Red Dot Design Award. The “Red Dot” is an internationally recognised quality label for excellent design.

Subtle modifications and embellishments of the brand’s core design principals keep the collections current and evolving.  New models such as the sleek Woodrow feature powder coated temple ends and pad arms and the deliberate absence of silicon padding.

Thicker and more prominent acetate temple tips and nose pads are found on models like Wilko in order to lend esthetic balance to its wider temples.

An extensive range of new models from MYKITA’s NO1, DECADES and LITE collections will be available to view and order during an open event at our Josephson Opticians’ concourse level location in the Richmond-Adelaide Center  June 28th.

An inspiring assortment of sunglasses offering full protection from the harmful rays of the intense  summer sunshine are available at Josephson Opticians’ locations throughout Toronto.  Here is a sampling of functional and highly fashionable styles to consider:

Dita Eyewear’s limited edition Decades-Two sunglass is a rare specimen. This masculine model features titanium temples and custom diamond motif detailing on the screw heads which secure the lens to the rugged frame front.

Thom Browne’s collection is comprised of many pieces sporting flat based lenses and hand lacquered detailing. The pairing of shiny gold and black on model TB-106 lends an additional element of sophistication to its elegant design.

18k gold plated CH floral cross motifs adorn the front of  Chrome Hearts’ Pornogranate. The hand polished acetate frame  also  features  temple bands of plated décor produced by a labor intensive lost wax casting method.

Hand made in France, the Thierry Lasry collection of sunglasses offers an extensive range of colours and patterns to admire. Model Soapy in translucent pink and brown is a feminine and youthful style.

Dramatic and alluring, She Sings is a sunglass from  the Anne et Valentin Lady Light collection. Each style is luminous and rich in tonality and hues. Models such as this will turn heads and provoke a lingering gaze!
