FEATHERLIGHT 1

Dita was founded in 1995, re-inventing eyewear by “transcending its conventions” and creating exceptional and discreet luxury eyewear. It’s designs range from bold character frames to new interpretations of timeless shapes through innovative technology. Highest levels of care and design in the manufacturing process provide a coveted reputation as a leader in optical innovation. All frames are hand crafted in Japan with great care and without regard for the extra time required to produce a product that can not only stand the test of time, but feels like luxury in hand. Production of one singular pair can sometimes take months.

MACH 1

One of their very popular iconic sun collections is the Mach series. It is inspired by the “love of fast cars, speed boats and sleek planes that are built with advanced construction methods and superb materials. These frames are built to ignite the same intensity that only the finest of these machines can trigger”. These sunglass frames are made of titanium, some with plastic rim details, titanium nose pads, acetate temple tips for comfort and easy adjustments. All have 100% UVA and UVB lenses with anti-reflective coatings.

LAMINANT 3

Dita-Laminate frames are one of the newer innovations in the Dita family. These are manufactured without the thought of time. Their master craftsmen may take up to three times longer to craft each one.
“Dita-Laminate frames are milled, plated and hand laminated with a ground breaking manufacturing technique that reveals in contrast – pairing the strength of steel with the iconic silhouette of an acetate frame. The result of this process is a light-weight, extremely thin, durable eyewear that is unlike any other”.

Dita is the preferred eyewear of many discerning clientele, including A-list celebs. A collection not to be missed.

Truly inspirational is an accurate depiction of the Face a Face line of eyewear. Designed under the direction of founder Pascal Joulent in France, the line draws its inspiration from sources of Modern Art, architecture and contemporary design. The designs play with volumes, shapes, textures and a unique colour range, the latter of which is a true Face a Face trademark.

Most recently,  part of the collection is paying tribute to the De Stijl Dutch art movement with frames made with graphic lines and vibrant colour-blocking in “popping primary colours”. Dating back to 1917 this art movement’s raison d’être was to rebuild and reshape a changing society through art and design. The trademark of this movement was an abstract graphic look, which is now trending in contemporary architecture as well as on the catwalk.

In the newest collection of Face a Face frames, this trend has taken a modern twist and has been incorporated in many of the latest models.

Josephson Opticians is proud and excited to showcase many of these latest inspirational and unique pieces.

It is appropriate at this charitable time of the year to highlight a luxury frame manufacturer who’s very existence has a philanthropic purpose. The Sama line of handcrafted frames was founded two decades ago by eyewear designer Sheila Vance, with the purpose of funding a philanthropic organization. This organization, the Sam Vance Foundation, was founded in 1997 by Sheila Vance in memory of her son Sam, who died of an accidental heroine overdose at the tender age of 19, while experimenting with the drug in his freshman year at UCLA. The purpose of the foundation is to prevent drug abuse amongst teens and young adults, as well as help with the road to recovery for young addicts. Where most companies primary concern is to make money but may get into a charity to develop a social conscience, Sama was founded in order to fund the Sam Vance Foundation. Vance now donates 100% of the net proceeds from Sama’s Visionnaires collection, 100% of its Heart of Gold Special edition, as well as a portion of Sama Eyewear’s total annual sales.

Kudos to Sheila Vance for such philanthropic efforts. Those efforts are supported by Josephson Opticians.

In addition to being philanthropic, the Sama lineup of luxury brand handcrafted frames is exquisite. Many of the frames are timeless fashion accessories. Much of the collection reflect the latest seasonal trends from Milan, Paris, New York and Tokyo. Many a Hollywood celeb can be seen wearing frames from the Sama line.

We would like to invite you to share with us these truly inspirational and timeless pieces.
